Poor Nutrition-
The impact on your sport
The problems of poor nutrition are not always recognised by the
sportsperson. For example, an under nourished athlete running a
middle distance race may believe and think they are running fine,
however, as their mind is tired and their fuel tank is low they
are not getting the right information and could well be working
harder than they need to compensate for not having enough energy.
Performance will therefore suffer. |
Using
football as an example poor nutrition can lead to:
·Missed tackles
·Giving the ball away
·Missed chances
·Running slower
·Making poor decisions
·Getting injured more often
·Taking longer to recover afterwards |

|
These sorts of problems have been identified across the sporting
spectrum.
