The most
important thing to remember is that ALL types of sport and exercise
require energy – and energy comes from what we eat and drink.
Everyone who enjoys taking part in sport knows that energy is very
important – and that if it is not kept topped up then performance
falls away.
Did you know that even when we are at rest we still need a lot of
energy?
To keep the body working we use 60–75% of the body’s
energy. We need this energy for breathing, thinking, digestion,
controlling body temperature and blood circulation.
This is why it is critical to top up our energy stores regularly
if we are sports people. |
